Power Factor Correction

Power factor is the ratio of working power (kW) to the apparent power (kVA). A poor power factor could lead to overloaded transformers and feeders, reduced voltage level, sluggish motor operation, and additional billing cost. The aim of a power factor analysis is to access the existing power system condition and check for any need to correct and improve the power factor level; this may be done through the addition of capacitor banks.
